Les précédents, a choreographic architecture project (2008)

Born from a collaboration between the Théâtre de Verdure of Montreal and the choreographer Marie Béland, this “choreographic architecture” project Les précédents was at first created for the Parc Lafontaine. This site-specific work was presented seven times during the summer of 2008. The piece brings to light the architecture of the outdoor site by integrating the dancers into the constitution of the landscape as much as into the movement of the walkers. Drawing from the mobile and from the immobile, from the permanent and from the short-lived, the interpreters make us see differently the public area, constantly swarming with people.

Interpreters for 2009: Isabelle Arcand, Amélie Bédard-Gagnon, Geneviève Gagné, Simon-Xavier Lefebvre, Louliko Shibao, Marilyne St-Sauveur, Anne Thériault, Andrew Turner et Hugo Gravel.

Ce projet a bénéficié du soutien financier de l'Entente sur le développement culturel de Montréal intervenue entre la Ville de Montréal et le ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition féminine du Québec.
